Abstract
The purpose of the summer school on media and the
Churches was educational. It was meant to be an opportunity for broadcasters, journalists, Church spokespersons and the general public to come to a better understanding of how media report Church news and of what the Church has to do in order to proclaim its message more effectively. The initiative for the conference was taken by a Church body. It is therefore appropriate that we conclude the publication of these papers with a reflection on the responsibilities of the Church in a world in which media play a critical role.
